CBS’s “60 Minutes II,” Wednesday, May 15th, 2002, at 8:00 PM. SI staff (David Swink, Barry Spodak) were featured as part of a team working to prevent school violence with the US Secret Service and the Department of Education. SI is proud to be a part of this ground-breaking program to train school staff, police, and others, on how to assess and manage potentially violent school situations.

SI has created a series of simulated video interviews that will support the live, simulation-based training, as part of the “Safe Schools Initiative.” On May 29, 2002, SI, the US Secret Service, and the Department of Education began working together to present live training in Seattle, Chicago, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, and San Francisco. This training continues to be delivered in other regions throughout the United States.

The “60 Minutes II” story Mind of the Assassin, gives viewers an unprecedented look at how Secret Service agents are trained. David Swink and Barry Spodak train Secret Service Agents to interview and assess potential threats. Swink portrays a schizophrenic man who threatens to kill the president.

While Swink is interviewed by the agents, Spodak provides coaching. Swink then comes out of role to provide more insight to this possible dangerous individual.
